In a statement from the parliamentary rostrum, the leader of Vazrazhdane party, Kostadin Kostadinov, stated that his party would not allow "a national betrayal - Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone".

According to the politician, Bulgaria continues to fail to meet the inflation criterion. Kostadinov reproached the new cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov for being "hasty" in implementing the criteria. He noted that the currency board has repeatedly proven itself to be the best refuge for the Bulgarian economy.

He pointed out that "some politicians are licking their lips for the money from the currency board reserve", which they hope will be released and absorbed by companies close to the government. "We will not allow Bulgaria to enter the Eurozone illegally, we will set you on fire if necessary," Kostadinov threatened from the highest state rostrum.
