Bulgarian and Romanian were given a second chance at life thanks to an organ donation

Bulgarian and a Romanian were given a second chance at life after the relatives of a 68-year-old woman made the noble decision to donate her organs. The donor situation was carried out by a team from the "Dr. Stefan Cherkezov" Hospital in Veliko Tarnovo. A kidney transplant was performed on a 60-year-old man in Bulgaria. Under the agreement with Romania, a 33-year-old man was given a new chance at life after undergoing a liver transplant. According to information from the healthcare facilities, the patients are in good overall condition and remain under medical supervision in the intensive care units.

The Ministry of Health and the Executive Agency Medical Supervision express their sincere condolences to the relatives of the donor and express their gratitude and respect for the noble decision made at a difficult time to save human lives.
