Nearly 8 tonnes of waste delivered for recycling in a Sofia district

Sofia residents handed over separately about 8 tons of waste from their basements, garages and attics during the second edition of “MaGaTa Fest”, which took place in the “Mladost” district. Within four hours, 700 kg of textiles, 150 kg of paper, 50 kg of plastic and glass, 2 tons of electronics, over 630 kg of hazardous materials, etc. were collected.

“After the great success of the first edition, we had no doubt that we should continue the initiative. Sofia residents are really motivated to hand over their waste separately, so we will continue with more such events,” said Emil Georgiev, Director of Waste Management at the Sofia Municipality.

The waste will be utilized according to the rules for sustainable management. Similar actions will take place in more Sofia districts in May.
