On August 27 and 28, President Rumen Radev is on a working visit to Germany. In Berlin, he will meet with his counterpart, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
At the invitation of the CEO of Europe's largest defence company Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, Radev will participate in the official opening ceremony of a high-tech plant in Unterlüß, Lower Saxony.
The visit of the Bulgarian head of state is a continuation of the meeting between Radev and Papperger during the Munich Security Conference in February this year, at which specific areas for investment and industrial cooperation with the Bulgarian defence industry and science were identified. As a result of this meeting, in March, Armin Papperger visited Bulgaria at the invitation of the Bulgarian president and held meetings with leading representatives of the defence industry and the executive branch.
