"Bulgaria will continue to play a key role in regional energy projects", Caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said during the 1st Athens Ministerial Energy Dialogue, organized by Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas. Minister Hristov emphasized the efforts of Bulgaria’s caretaker cabinet to complete the Bulgaria-Greece gas interconnector on time and to increase its capacity.

During the event, Rosen Hristov discussed with his Romanian counterpart Virgil-Daniel Popescu the opportunity for building two hydroelectric power plants along the joint section of the Danube. "It is high time that Bulgaria benefitted from this natural resource. Thus, we will also have two new bridges over the Danube", Minister Hristov noted.
