Increase in number of births registered at Sofia’s Maichin Dom maternity hospital

The number of births at Sofia’s Maichin Dom maternity hospital is up compared to last year.

Almost 1,700 babies have been born since the beginning of the year, 100 more girls than boys, the hospital says. During the past 6 months an average of 10 babies have been born a day, with almost 60 pairs of twins born so far, and one have undergone intensive care, the smallest newborn weighing a little over 600 grams.
