According to the Constitution, the first session of the newly elected MPs is opened by the oldest member of parliament and all MPs are sworn in. Silvi Kirilov, aged 73, was elected as an MP from Burgas. He was also the oldest MP in the 47th National Assembly and opened the first session of the 47th Parliament on December 3, 2021.
