The fourth, the longest of the five stages of the 71st International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria has begun. The start was given in the town of Primorsko, and the movement will be restricted in stages in the sections from Primorsko to Sliven.
The first stage from Sofia to Troyan was 161.5 kilometers long, and in the second stage the participants covered 108.3 kilometers from Troyan to Kazanlak. The route of the third stage was 180 flat kilometers from Kazanlak to Burgas, and the fourth stage, which started now from Primorsko to Sliven, is 207.2 kilometers.

The final of the Tour of Bulgaria will be a 123-kilometer stage from Sliven to Gabrovo.

After the cycling tours of France, Italy and Belgium, Bulgaria's cycling tour is the fourth oldest in Europe and marks a hundred years since it was first held in 1924.

The Italian Giovanni Carboni is leading the individual time trial classification, just 1 second ahead of his compatriot Matteo Malucelli, who won the third stage of the competition. Martin Papanov from the Nessebar Cycling Club is the best Bulgarian rider so far, in 4th place in the provisional classification, 26 seconds behind the leader Carboni.
