Six residents of the town of Kocani from North Macedonia are traveling to the Pirogov Hospital in Sofia to donate blood. They have the rare blood type A, a negative Rh factor, which is urgently needed for one of the patients in serious condition admitted to the emergency hospital in Sofia, Zoran Todorov, co-chair of the Rotary Committee for Friendship Bulgaria-North Macedonia-Slovenia, told BNR.
The chairman of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Hristo Grigorov, has provided a corridor for blood donors with the rare blood type from Kocani.

Many people are waiting in front of Pirogov Hospital who want to donate blood. They say that donating in this difficult situation is a normal act.

In the first 2 hours alone of the blood donation campaign today, over 120 people have donated blood for the victims of the Kocani tragedy. Those waiting will also head to other health facilities, as the blood donation campaign will continue until 2 p.m.
